THE MARANGONI WASTE TO ENERGY PLANT BURNS 15,000 TONNES PER YEAR (X tyres) BUT ALSO TREATS OTHER WASTE

  • Car fluff (residue from car demolition) - 20 - 22.000 tons /year - CER codes 191003 - 191004
  • Hospital waste (they are usually in boxes) - about 20,000 tons/year - CER codes 1801 and similar
  • Secondary solid fuel: it is no longer a waste, it derives from the treatment of urban waste –

this too in quantities of the order of 20 - 22,000 tons/year.

NB

This waste (together with the tyres) can be mixed with any other waste,

in percentages up to 10 - 15% they can be used together with a main waste.

The important feature is that they are not waste with a too fine particle size.


The system consists of the following components:

  • ELT conveyor system (Car and Giant)
  • ELT thermal destroyer
  • Afterburner with natural gas burner
  • Waste system and wire/ash separation
  • Hot smoke by-pass chimney
  • Recovery boiler or HRSG (Heat Recovery Steam Generator)
  • Master fan, cold smoke by-pass and smoke duct up to the filters
  • Bag filters for dust removal and desulphurisation
  • Final chimney fan
  • Turbo generator
  • Thermal cycle components
  • Electrical power system (transformers, switchboards, cables)
  • Generator set
  • Control and supervision system
  • Water demineralization system
  • Continuous monitoring system of chimney emissions
